Dr. Sarah S. Pitts

      Dr. Sarah Pitts is a Detroit native, entrepreneur, community advocate, and founder and Board Member of Michigan Employment Training Plus (MET Plus). Born and raised in the City of Detroit, Dr. Pitts attended Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), beginning her education at Isaac Newton Elementary School, continuing at Albert Winship Middle School, and graduating from Thomas M. Cooley High School.

      Dr. Pitts is passionate about serving others, with a special commitment to the elderly population and teenagers. In her leadership role at MET Plus, she provides management oversight for program operations while driving organizational performance and accountability. She is committed to ensuring that programs and services are efficient, effective, accessible, and delivered with a high level of satisfaction for both consumers and staff.

     Dr. Pitts holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Human Resources Management from American InterContinental University (AIU). She later earned her Doctorate in Leadership Management from Colorado Technical University. Her professional knowledge and experience encompass finance, customer service, management, leadership, and mental health services.

A woman who truly wears many hats, Dr. Pitts balances her professional responsibilities with her roles as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. Her commitment to community service extends far beyond her professional career. She has served as a Girl Scout troop leader and has been actively involved with Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD), Senior Citizen, Top Teens of America, and the Sickle Cell Committee while serving as Top Ladies Detroit Chapter Financial Secretary.

     Dr. Pitts is deeply passionate about rebuilding and stabilizing Detroit communities. As a lifelong Detroit resident, she has personally witnessed challenges affecting individuals and families throughout the city. Rather than simply identifying problems, she believes in developing innovative solutions through community engagement, advocacy, collaboration, and action.

Dr. Pitts' vision is rooted in the belief that strong communities are built when residents have access to the resources, opportunities, support, and services they need to thrive. Through her leadership, education, professional experience, and dedication to service, she continues to advocate for Detroit residents and work toward creating meaningful and sustainable change in the community she proudly calls home.
